HMT recognised at M&A Awards for the second consecutive year

HMT LLP has been awarded ‘Cross-border M&A Team of the Year – UK’ at the 2014 M&A Awards, making it our 5th major accolade in the last 12 months.

HMT-M&A-award-2014After our success at the 2014 Thames Valley Deals Awards earlier this year, where we won Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year, Deal of the Year and Outstanding Performer in the Due Diligence category,  HMT’s corporate finance expertise  has been rewarded once again at the M&A Awards where we won the ‘Cross-border M&A Team of the Year (UK)’ award.

HMT was also recognised as one of the Top 3 places to work (under 100 employees) at the Thames Valley Business Awards in November 2013.

The M&A Awards celebrate excellence in all areas of M&A, recognising deal success as well as firms and individuals whose talent and expertise have contributed to the increase in global M&A activity over the past year. The M&A Awards are voted annually by an international network composed of M&A experts, professionals and industry insiders and they are sponsored by AI Global Media, Acquisition International Magazine and DealFlow Source.

In the last 12 months, HMT has advised on a wide range of cross-border deals including the £100m+ disposal of Swift Worldwide Resources to US private equity firm Wellspring Capital Management; the MBO of UK, US and Middle East based seismic consultancy EPI Group; the acquisition of Madrid-based firms Insitu and Mobilepoint by Redeem Holdings; and the joint venture investment between LDC and PostNL, the Dutch listed postal services business, in TNT Post UK. Our entrepreneurial services team is also involved with various international clients such as an American publisher, a French fashion website and a US-based marketing agency.

We are delighted to have again been rewarded at the M&A Awards, after being voted Financial Due Diligence Provider of the Year at these same awards in 2013. This recognition consolidates our position as the leading adviser to entrepreneurial businesses in the Thames Valley and the South East, advising on 25 deals with an aggregate value of over £400 million in the past 12 months.

Andrew Thomson commented,

‘We are pleased that HMT is recognised as a major player in the cross-border M&A sector in 2014 again. Both our corporate finance and our entrepreneurial services teams have made tremendous efforts in 2013-2014 and we are getting more and more presence on the cross-border deal scene.  We will carry on our hard work this year and hope to be rewarded again at the 2015 M&A Awards.’

Ian Barton said,

‘As the largest advisory team in the region we are proud to have advised on some of the most significant deals in the last 12 months, several of which have involved significant cross border activity.  Our clients recognise that our experience, initiative and endeavour generate exceptional outcomes and we look forward further success for the rest of 2014.’
