The first six months of 2017 have seen HMT continue to be busy both advising numerous entrepreneurial businesses on deals as well as growing our corporate finance practice. During this time, we have reinforced our position as the leading transactional team in the Thames Valley completing 15 deals with a value in excess of £150 million including the MBOs of Nu-Heat, Clamason and ProspectSoft backed by private equity, the fundraising for Go Jumpin and Porta Communications and the acquisitions of Vee Bee Filtration and Tru Solutions as well as a disposal in the training sector.
However, 2017 is far from over and we have a strong pipeline for the rest of the year and beyond.
On the back of an active deal flow, we have also been busy on the recruitment front. The corporate finance team has been strengthened with the recruitment of Ricky Lane as an Associate Director. Ricky and has over 10 years corporate finance experience in the Thames Valley and we are also adding to our due diligence/transaction support team with the recruitment of Corin Briault-Hutter as an Executive.
In April, HMT was recognised as the Due Diligence Team of the Year at the 2017 Thames Valley Deal Awards and advised on the Deal of the Year (under £10m) – the investment in Channel Mum by NVM Private Equity.
This year, HMT is celebrating its 25th anniversary of corporate finance success making us the longest standing independent advisory firm in the Thames Valley. We will be reflecting on our history by highlighting 10 of the most significant deals of HMT over the coming weeks. Stay tuned and enjoy the summer!
