HMT advised leading festival booking platform Festicket on their acquisition of ticketing platform Event Genius and their consumer facing brand Ticket Arena.
Founded in 2012 by Zack Sabban and Jonathan Younes, Festicket empowers music fans with a seamless service to discover and book tickets and travel packages to over 2,000 music festivals worldwide.
The two-sided marketplace uses a network of nearly 6,000 accommodation and travel suppliers to create unique festival experiences for millions of festival-goers from around the world. Festicket was recently ranked by the Financial Times as the 80th fastest growing company in Europe.
Event Genius is an award-winning end-to-end event management system, covering everything from ticketing, access control and point-of-sale cashless payments to engagement tools, fan loyalty and marketing services. Event Genius has powered major events, including Wales Rally GB, Ibiza Rocks, BPM Festival, The Warehouse Project, Annie Mac’s Lost & Found Festival, Parklife, and events at clubs such as Motion Bristol and Egg London.
Festicket and Event Genius will now bring both their offerings together to offer a complete end-to-end event management platform for both promoters and music fans.
Following the transaction, Event Genius founder Reshad Hossenhally joins Festicket as Chief Supply Chain Officer.
HMT, led by Paul Read and Corin Briault-Hutter, undertook financial due diligence for Festicket on this transaction.
Matt Hann, CFO at Festicket, commented:
“Paul and Corin from HMT were very professional and a great help in the acquisition process carrying out financial due diligence for Festicket. We look forward to welcoming the Ticket Arena and Event Genius staff to Festicket and are excited about the opportunities this presents to continue our growth story as a market leader in live entertainment technology.”
Paul Read commented:
“We are delighted to have advised Festicket on their acquisition. By joining forces, Festicket and Event Genius have become a market leader in the event management industry. We look forward to working with them again in the future as they expand and develop the brand.“
