Acquisition of DART Training

HMT LLP advised Reaseheath College, one of the UK’s leading specialist land-based colleges, on the acquisition of specialist private training provider DART Training.

Based in Cheshire, Reaseheath College accommodates approximately 7,500 students from over 110 local authorities and other countries. Subject areas include agriculture, horticulture, veterinary nursing, construction, food technology, equine and sports studies. The college has invested over £40 million into industry standard technical and educational facilities on its Nantwich campus over the past six years.

Derbyshire-based DART Training was founded in 1999 and works with SMEs throughout the Midlands, providing tailor-made training in the workplace in industries such as agriculture, arboriculture, veterinary nursing and environmental conservation. The business will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Reaseheath but will operate as an independent arm of the college.

The partnership gives Reaseheath a vastly increased range of training and further education opportunities to offer to the land-based sector, as well as access to new markets beyond their traditional geographic operating region.

Meredydd David, Principal, commented:

“Reaseheath and DART have a great synergy. Both organisations share the same values, education and training focus and both are highly respected within the land-based industry. Our mission values and philosophy are closely aligned and we are equally passionate about the education and training of young people and adults.
This is a great opportunity for both Reaseheath and DART to work together to sustainably grow and expand our training offer, penetrate new markets and develop a long lasting, successful future.  This partnership will give us the chance to significantly enhance our educational and training offer.
We thank HMT for an excellent job steering us through our first acquisition.”

HMT commented:

“Reaseheath College and DART training are clearly a great fit in terms of values and philosophy, and also in terms of the opportunities they can bring to young people through working together.

HMT were delighted to assist with this, Reaseheath’s first acquisition, and we look forward to working with Meredydd and his team in identifying further opportunities for the College to expand their offering.”
