Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2026!
As 2025 is drawing to a close, it is time for us to reflect on the memorable year this has been for HMT. Despite the many political and economic challenges facing the market in 2025, it has been a great year for our team.
We have completed 34 transactions across a wide range of sectors, including corporate hospitality, specialist logistics, Auto Repair, energy, data analytics, software and IT services
As a ‘people’ business, we have continued to build our team with professionals who are passionate about delivering the best possible outcome for our clients.
We are delighted to have welcomed this year ten new members to our HMT family – Justin McKeegan, Sam Snoxall, Claire Godfrey, Luke Gilbert, Cleo Dutertre-Delaunay, Mohammed Moursy, Luke Boles, Annie Hart, Harrison Deeley and Oliver Rista-Brettler. We will have more new joiners to announce early in 2026. We sadly said goodbye to some of our team as well, and we wish Jack, Ben, Owen, Jack and Andreas all the best in their future careers.
Big news in April was the well-deserved promotion of Ricky Lane, after seven years with the firm, to Partnership.
During 2025, we have been working ever more closely with our international colleagues. In October we rebranded our global network of like-minded firms to become Cognos Global Partners. This new name and branding embody our unified identity, global ambition, and renewed vision for serving the M&A middle-market globally. We were also delighted to welcome Lempriere Wells, from Australia, to join us.
2025 has been a year of joyful celebrations for the HMT team as we hosted a wide range of events for both our team and our clients, strengthening relationships, encouraging collaboration, and fostering a strong sense of community. At a more personal level there were exam successes, new babies for Motti and Arthur, and (separate) weddings for Luisa and Sam.
We are looking forward to another exciting year in 2026. We start the new year with a very strong pipeline and a couple of new deal announcements will be published early in January.
