Ricky Lane

Ricky Lane is a Partner in HMT LLP’s Corporate Finance team.

Ricky graduated with a BA in Business Economics from the University of Liverpool in 2003. After graduating he trained with Grant Thornton in their Thames Valley practice before joining HMT’s corporate finance team in 2017. Ricky became a Corporate Finance Partner in 2025.

Ricky has worked across audit, restructuring and transaction services, providing him with a broad commercial perspective and deep understanding of the factors that drive value creation. He has particular experience advising businesses across business services, technology, logistics, manufacturing, and distribution sectors. Ricky combines technical expertise with pragmatic commercial advice, guiding clients through complex transactions with a focus on achieving the best possible outcome for all stakeholders.

Advising entrepreneurs, management teams and investors on acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts and fundraising transactions and with more than 15 years’ experience in corporate finance and transaction advisory, Ricky has supported a significant number of successful transactions across the lower mid-market, helping business owners maximise value and achieve their strategic objectives.

Downtime

Outside of work, Ricky enjoys spending time with his family and his dog, Byron, exploring the Chiltern hills on long walks.

He is a keen golfer, plays football, enjoys trips to the cinema, and loves travelling to experience different cultures, destinations and cuisines around the world.
